A seasoned entrepreneur, Marc has extensive experience in the financial markets with solid expertise in fixed income. Before co-founding Nymbus Capital in 2013, he founded the ARB Group in 2005, where he acted as President of a private investment firm, in 2005 and served as President until 2012. He was an independent participant on the Montreal Exchange from 1991 to 2005, trading mainly Canadian bonds and related derivatives.
Before that, he held marker positions in the Canadian fixed-income market at the National Bank of Canada after starting his career in 1986 at Lévesque Beaubien Geoffrion Corp.
Marc holds a B.Com. in Finance from Concordia University.
Co-founder and Chief Investment Officer, Gabriel Cefaloni is a technologist specializing in systematic investments. His expertise lies at the intersection of applied mathematics, computer science, and quantitative finance, with a focus on fixed-income and futures contracts.
With nearly 20 years of experience, he was part of Canada’s first wave of high-frequency trading (ARB Group) before managing quantitative derivative strategies (GC Capital). He leads an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers who leverage artificial intelligence to optimize investment portfolio management. Under his co-leadership, the firm has ranked among the top-performing and fastest-growing firms in Canada since 2019.
Gabriel holds a B.Com. in Finance from Concordia University and is a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®).
Mathieu joined the Nymbus team in 2021 as Associate Vice President, Financial Engineering. Before joining Nymbus in 2021, he spent eight years as Head of Investments at Perseus Capital, a quantitative hedge fund manager for high-net-worth clients.
During his tenure at Perseus, he developed several systematic macroeconomic investment strategies using derivatives in several asset classes. During his last four years with the company, he held the position of Vice-President.
Mathieu holds a bachelor of Administration in Finance from the Université du Québec à Montréal and a Master of Science in Market Finance from the University of Sherbrooke.
Jessica’s background intertwines the fields of data science, computer science, machine learning, and mathematics. Before joining Nymbus in 2022, she worked at Tower Research Capital within the Quantitative Trading FX group.
At Nymbus, she is part of the group responsible for researching and developing quantitative investment models and she contributes to the improvement of our investment operations automation efforts.
Jessica holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics and was granted multiple awards and speaking invitations internationally for her research work.
Olivier’s multidisciplinary expertise uniquely positions him at the intersection of finance, technology, and science. He has a solid background in financial engineering and physics, as well as in academia, FinTech and technology startups. His research in condensed matter physics has led to high-impact publications.
He joined Nymbus in 2023, where he is part of the group responsible for researching and developing quantitative investment models as well as improving our investment operations automation efforts. Before that, his notable roles include serving as a Quantitative Analyst at Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec, Trans-Canada Capital and Futures First.
Olivier holds a Ph.D. in Physics and an MSc in Financial Engineering.
Jean-Philippe Lejeune is a quantitative developer and trader at Nymbus Capital, overseeing trading operations, model development and risk-management tools that support portfolio construction and execution.
Before that, he provided performance measurement, risk analysis and analytical support to investors ranging from large pension funds to boutique private-equity firms, improving decision-making and reporting frameworks.

Diane Dusabimana acts as Chief Compliance Officer at Nymbus Capital. She oversees firm-wide compliance, fund governance, and provides operational support for both regulatory and strategic initiatives. She also acts as the primary liaison with regulators and industry bodies.
Before joining Nymbus, Diane was Senior Manager, Compliance at Banque Nationale Investissement and held senior compliance roles at Desjardins and Fiera Capital. She began her career at Investors Group, working in both operational and compliance functions.
Diane holds a Diplôme in Applied Mathematics from Université de Lille 1, as well as a Maîtrise and Baccalauréat in Finance from Université de Lille. She also earned an MBA from Université Laval and holds both the CPA and CFA designations. In addition, she completed the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing (2022) and other regulatory certifications.
Jean Turmel founded Perseus Capital in 2005. He has extensive experience in financial markets. He has held senior positions at the National Bank of Canada as President of Capital Markets, Treasury and Investment Banking. He was also Chairman of the Board of the Montreal Stock Exchange and Natcan Investment Management.
Mr. Turmel was a Partner of National Bank Financial and TMX Group. He is currently the Chairman of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and has been a member of the Board since 2007.
He also served on the board of Alimentation Couche-Tard and is a recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his contribution to the Canadian investment industry.
In 1981, Jean-Luc Landry joined the Bolton Tremblay team as Vice-President and Portfolio Manager; he was appointed President in 1987. After Bolton Tremblay merged with Montrusco et Associés, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Montrusco Bolton.
Jean-Luc is a former President of the Association des conseillers financiers du Québec and of the Association des économistes québécois. For several years, he was a member of the Investment Committee of Capital Régional et Coopératif Desjardins, of the Alberta Investment Management Corporation (the Alberta equivalent of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec) and Optimum Réassurance.
He is a board member of Garda World Security Corporation. Jean-Luc has a Bachelor of Economics from Collège Sainte-Marie and has completed the course work for a Master of Economics from the University of Ottawa.
Guy Liébart is Portfolio Manager at Nymbus Capital, overseeing fixed-income and multi-asset mandates for institutional clients.
He was previously President and Portfolio Manager at Gestion Sodagep Inc., and from 1975 to 1989 held senior investment roles at Canagex Placements and an insurance group, directing diversified portfolios of more than CAD 1.5 billion. He began his career at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, where he rose to Assistant Manager of the Bond Department and sat on the fixed-income investment committee. He holds a Diplôme national des Écoles supérieures de commerce from the University of Rheims (1966), a Licence ès sciences commerciales from HEC Montréal (1967), and the Canadian Securities Courses I and II (1970).
From 2003 to 2014, François-Olivier served as Vice-President, Partner and Head of Liability Trading on the Institutional Equity Trading team at Desjardins Securities. He was covering telecoms, REITs, industrials, rails, energy infrastructure, independent power producers, pipelines and utilities. He facilitated equity block transactions by pricing potential trades and managing the firm’s trading capital to encourage activity among Desjardins institutional clients.
He served previously with National Bank Financial, where he worked as an equity proprietary trader from 2000 to 2003.
François-Olivier holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Laval University where he was a starter for the Rouge et Or basketball team.
Jennifer Pinkerton is a Portfolio Administrator at Nymbus, overseeing daily portfolio operations and acting as the primary liaison between portfolio managers and institutional investors.
From 2001 to 2024, she served as a client-service manager at Sodagep, managing mandate implementation, portfolio oversight and bespoke reporting for pension funds, insurers and other large asset owners.
She earned the IQPF Financial Planner designation in 1999 and holds the CFA charter, awarded in 2009.
Xavier holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Concordia University. He was introduced to financial markets and client service in his young career in 2021. Before joining the Nymbus team, he had distinguished himself in various organizations thanks to his innovative solutions, extensive network of contacts and mobilizing energy.
Danira is an expert in administrative management specializing in finance. With 10 years of experience working for leading financial institutions, such as National Bank, iA Financial Group, and Desjardins, she has overseen a range of operational projects with success. At Nymbus, she applies her expertise to support the team in managing administrative tasks and invoicing. Danira’s experience and skill in optimizing administrative procedures make her an excellent fit for contributing to the company’s operational efficiency.
